We are all road safety: Aleatica’s employees join the #RethinkMobility campaign

Mexico City, Wednesday, May 24, 2023.- As part of the 7th Global Road Safety Week, under the slogan “We are all Road Safety,” Aleatica’s employees seek a fresh take on mobility and on working every day to help prevent fatalities and serious injuries caused by road accidents.

On those days, Monday, May 15 and Wednesday, May 17, Aleatica’s facilities became the setting for this initiative. It was organized by the Aleatica Foundation for Road Safety team and directed at the employees who were present in the company’s offices. The activity’s main goal was to get Aleatica’s employees to reflect on and be aware of road safety.

Aleatica, a leading company in the transport infrastructure sector, reaffirms its commitment to road safety with a campaign directed at its employees. The activity was to record a 30-second video sharing messages aimed at improving safety on Mexico’s streets and highways.

Concerned that injuries caused by traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of death and disability around the world, the Aleatica Foundation joins the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030. This plan seeks to cut injuries and deaths from traffic accidents by 50% by 2030.

The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety stresses that the fatal injuries that occur in cities and on highways can be prevented by together addressing Safe System factors, including taking steps to ensure safe roads, vehicles, and behaviors and improving emergency responses. Correspondingly, the Aleatica Foundation has promoted this activity, reinforcing its commitment to road safety.

Within the context of the UN’s 7th Global Week for Road Safety, which focuses on sustainable transportation, the Aleatica Foundation accepted the World Health Organization’s invitation to help foster safer and more sustainable mobility. Ultimately, road safety is a precondition and result of the shift towards a more sustainable mobility.

“In the Aleatica Foundation, we firmly believe that road safety is everyone’s responsibility”, stated Fernanda Espinosa, the Aleatica Foundation’s Leader for Road Safety. “It is through initiatives like this one that we aim to raise awareness and encourage safe behavior. We want to play a part in building a future of safer roadways for all.”

During the activity, Aleatica’s employees shot videos sharing their experiences, knowledge, and thoughts on the importance of practicing safe behaviors on our roads. These videos were shared on social media, with the aim of amplifying their impact and sharing key messages about road safety.

The Aleatica Foundation reaffirms its commitment to road safety and will continue working together with civil society organizations, the private sector, and the government to encourage a responsible road culture. The company will continue undertaking programs and initiatives that contribute to improving safety on our roadways and raising awareness about the importance of road safety.
