ToggleMexico City, August 6, 2024. As part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and reduce traffic incidents, Fundación Aleatica for Road Safety conducted the Third Open Road Safety Training Session from August 6 to 8 at the Police University of CDMX, training more than 350 police officers.
The sessions aim to update and strengthen the knowledge and skills of security, traffic, and investigation police officers, who are often the first responders to traffic accidents.
These trainings are part of Fundación Aleatica’s commitment to the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030), which seeks to reduce fatalities and serious injuries from road crashes by 50%.
Road safety training session agenda
The training included theoretical modules and a practical section, covering the following topics:
- Emergency driving techniques: Teaching safe and effective maneuvers for high-risk situations.
- Immediate response protocols: Procedures for closing lanes and securing the accident scene, ensuring the safety of everyone present.
- New regulatory provisions: Updates on the National Road Safety Strategy and its application in the field by security and investigation personnel.
These actions are made possible thanks to the close collaboration with the Ministry of Citizen Security, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Police University of Mexico City, as well as authorities from participating municipalities in the State of Mexico: Atizapán de Zaragoza, Chimalhuacán, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, and Huixquilucan.
A step towards safer communities
“These actions are a valuable and necessary step to improve road safety in our cities and strengthen the trust between people and public security institutions. Training road safety and investigation police officers means investing in safer communities and contributing to protecting lives,” stated Bosco Martí, president of Fundación Aleatica for Road Safety.
At the end of the session, each police officer receives a DC-3 Labor Competency Certificate, with curricular validity issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS).
Fundación Aleatica thus reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that the right to mobility under road safety conditions becomes a reality for everyone.
