License for Road Safety that Saves Lives
In collaboration with the University Research Institute for Traffic and Road Safety (INTRAS), two key studies were presented to improve road safety:
Points-Based Driver’s License System
Through in-depth analysis, the study confirms that points-based licenses are effective in deterring dangerous behavior and reducing fatality rates, a measure already implemented in several countries.
License for Road Safety that Saves Lives
Our proposal to implement a national points-based licensing system in Mexico could reduce traffic-related fatalities by 15% to 20%, equivalent to saving between 2,400 and 3,250 lives each year.
Based on this research, recommendations were presented to authorities to adapt the current permanent license model to a points-based system and improve road safety outcomes.
Road Safety Monitor
The first edition of the Road Safety Monitor was launched—a comprehensive overview of fatalities and traffic incidents across Mexico’s 32 states. This analysis provides a clear picture of the national road safety landscape, identifying key challenges and opportunities to improve safe mobility.
