Fundación Aleatica promotes road safety through artwork as part of the Ruta de las Empresas

  • Fundación Aleatica participated in the Ruta de las Empresas, an art exhibit that will was presented in Mexico City and will then travel to Guadalajara and Monterrey, connecting issues related to corporate impact with people’s everyday lives.
  • Road traffic accidents cause more than 16,000 deaths every year in Mexico, distancing the country from the international target of reducing fatalities and serious injuries by 50% by 2030.
  • With its painted sphere entitled, “Crossing Paths with Respect,” the Foundation reinforces its commitment to making the right to safe mobility a reality for everyone.

Mexico City, January 25, 2026. Fundación Aleatica para la Seguridad Vial took part in the opening of the Ruta de las Empresas exhibition, an initiative led by the Consejo de la Comunicación in collaboration with Locos por el Arte, which transforms Paseo de la Reforma into an open-air gallery. Seventeen companies from different sectors showcase their social responsibility actions through painted globe-shaped sculptures.

In this context, Fundación Aleatica calls for placing road safety at the center of public priorities. According to data from the Road Safety Monitor, Mexico is moving away from the international goal of reducing traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries by at least 50% by 2030. Currently, in Mexico more than 16,000 people die every year and nearly 44,000 suffer serious injuries as a result of road traffic crashes. The most vulnerable transportation infrastructure users are pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, who account for 70% of all fatalities.

If this trend continues, the country could reach more than 25,000 annual fatalities by 2030, representing a 279% increase in deaths and serious injuries, far above the target established under the United Nations Second Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021–2030).

In addition, 97% of traffic incidents occur in urban areas, underscoring the need to focus efforts on city environments. Against this backdrop, Fundación Aleatica decided to participate in Ruta de las Empresas to raise awareness about the importance of road safety as a means to save lives.

During her remarks, Fernanda Espinosa, Executive Director of the Foundation, explained that the organization was created with the goal of ensuring that the right to safe mobility becomes a reality for everyone.

On a daily basis, the Foundation advances this agenda through programs that seek to influence public policy, generate data to support decision-making, foster multisectoral engagement, and promote training and awareness, always placing respect for life at the core of its actions.

Fundación Aleatica’s sphere, was created by visual artist Angélica Gatica, whose work features an abstract geometric style. The piece symbolizes the Earth as a shared space in constant motion, where road safety is a collective responsibility.

Through a visual language that blends geometry and organic forms, the artwork alludes to the precision of road engineering and its direct impact on people’s daily lives.

The piece incorporates messages such as “One by One,” “We Are Road Safety,” and “Road Safety Is Our Right,” reinforcing the idea that every individual action contributes to collective well-being. The use of colors such as red, blue, yellow, green, and orange represents values associated with prevention, trust, visibility, responsible progress, and community commitment.

Through this initiative, Fundación Aleatica reaffirms its commitment to promoting safer and more sustainable mobility, guided by the conviction that everyone has the right to reach their destination safely.

The exhibition will be open from January 25th to March 6th in Mexico City, located between the Angel of Independence and the Glorieta del Ahuehuete. The exhibit is expected to reach more than four million people.

Visitors are invited to experience the exhibit and share the road safety message with their families and communities.

We Are All Road Safety.
